Kings vs. Hawks: A Colorful Adventure in Flutterwood
The Magical Kingdom of Flutterwood
Long ago in a land, which was as magical as it was dreamlike and was called the magical kingdom of Flutterwood – with sparkling dew on each of the trees and happiness-filled dances from every flower – had been alive two very distinct and important groups of beasts. Among them were known the Kings of the Sky.
The Kings of the Sky did not look like kings at all. They were butterflies adorned in shades of blue and orange and purple. Those butterflies ruled the air while flying from flower to another flower, spreading joy upon whatever path they flew.
King Monarch was an epitome of majesty in the shape of his magnificent butterfly with shimmering wings. On the other hand, the Hawks were strong and proud.
The Great Misunderstanding
On one bright day, a great feast in the field, as the Sky Kingdom Kings hosted a good thing. It did go poorly for butterflies who flew up against the sun as flutters by and caught wind of Captain Talon whose wings took shape against all of those bright and brilliant wings in error for that of the intruding intruders on his lands for which he took immediate wing, as if called there to call for his hawks in great flapping sweep of the rest:
“Who here enjoys my royal feasting banquet?” bellowed Capt. Talon.
“Ho, ho. with voice and sound did come and roll”.
King Monarch flapped forward, caught unawares. “We mean no harm, Captain Talon! We just happen to be dining here on this glorious day!”

The Test
Captain Talon, not believing the butterflies, challenged them. “If you think you can usurp the skies, let us have a contest! Then we will see who is the real king of the skies!”
The butterflies gasped. No one had ever fought anyone before! King Monarch stood tall, saying, “Very well, we accept your challenge, but let’s do this with a race instead of a fight. Let’s see who can fly through the enchanted forest and reach the Crystal Lake first!
Captain Talon agreed, thinking that the hawks would easily win. The news of the race was so fast going down town Flutterwood that all creatures gathered to see this interesting showdown.
As the sun rose high in the sky, the race started. Captain Talon and the hawks flew very high with their powerful wings, while King Monarch and the other butterflies flapped their delicate wings, giving it all they had to win the race.
The Dance of Friendship
They flew through the bewitched forest, ducking and weaving between the dancing waterfalls and blossoming flowers. The hawks could go fast, but butterflies twist and turn in ways hawks never could.
As they got close to the Crystal Lake, a miracle occurred! There appeared a beautiful rainbow spreading its colors over the lake. The butterflies were fascinated with it and decided to fly about the rainbow in aerial dances, forgetting about the competition.
Capt Talon, seeing butterflies dancing and playing, he decided to join them as they play and soar above and joined the hawks on dance too!
A New Beginning
They filled the skies with colors and laughter and both realized that they did not need to compete for sky control but could rather be cooperative and share.
They all agreed in unison when they finally landed by the lake Crystal that there’s enough space for all people in the sky. After that, The Kings of the Sky, and the Hawks became best friends to spend life flying on one breeze in harmony with numerous stories after stories about the adventure and experiences of themselves, as well as at each other’s side, while discovering the kingdom of beautiful Flutterwood.
The Lesson Learned
And so, the skies of Flutterwood filled with laughter, color, and friendship proved to be the perfect testament that sometimes, it is not about being the best but enjoying the journey together.
The End.
