The Cap Seller and the Monkeys
The Cap Seller’s Journey
Once, there was a cap seller who traveled from town to town, selling colorful caps. On a bright sunny day, he was walking through a village, calling out:
“Caps, caps, caps…
Five rupee caps, ten rupee caps!
Caps for everyone!”
He walked for hours, selling a few caps here and there. Soon, he became tired.
Rest Under the Big Tree
Feeling exhausted, the cap seller decided to rest under a large shady tree. He put his basket of caps down beside him and quickly fell asleep, enjoying the cool breeze.
Mischievous Monkeys
A Fun Kids Story
Up in the tree, there were many monkeys. They saw the cap seller sleeping soundly and became curious about his basket of caps. One by one, the monkeys climbed down the tree, quietly took the caps from the basket, and put them on their heads. After their playful act, they climbed back up the tree, giggling and swinging from branch to branch.

The Surprise
When the cap seller woke up, he was shocked to see his basket empty. “Where have all my caps gone?” he wondered. He looked around, and to his surprise, he saw the monkeys on the tree branches, each wearing one of his caps!
A Clever Plan
The cap seller was confused at first but soon realized that the monkeys were imitating him. He tried to scare them by throwing stones, but the monkeys threw mangoes back at him in defense. Then, he had a clever idea.
The cap seller took off his own cap and threw it on the ground. The monkeys, being great imitators, copied him and threw their caps on the ground as well.
A Happy Ending
Quickly, the cap seller gathered all his caps, put them back in his basket, and smiled to himself. His cleverness had saved the day! He continued his journey, feeling happy and proud of his idea.
Moral of the Story
“Wisdom is better than weapons of war.”
